Hi my name is Nicole! I am a college student, getting ready to graduate and get married on Sept. 1, 2012! I have recently lost about 60 pounds from incorporating healthier foods into my diet. I just started my own blog in order to inspire people in my area to live healthier lifestyles. I live in West Virginia and many people here are very apathetic about their health because they are not educated enough. I want to change that. By winning the Vitamix, I would be able to show people that eating healthy can be fun and encourage my community to become healthier. Right now, with a college student budget the Vitamix would also really help me with groceries by allowing me to make some of the things that are so expensive and scarce in my town; such as my own nut butter, almond milk, and hummus. I am hoping to alter my culture!!

My Sister-in-law Darla, who died of cancer about 5 years ago, was convinced that the chemically altered foods we eat played a major role in giving her cancer. After being diagnosed with cancer, she bought a Vitamix and only ate organic foods. I feel this helped extend her life another 7 years. Also, I’ve noticed my daughters losing weight and gaining health by simply omitting meats and eating natural foods, especially vegetables. I want to be healthier and am ready to give up my old eating habits and feed my body nutritious meals. I can do this without a Vitamx, but I’d love to have one to make my own smoothies. I currently drink lots of Odwalla juices and they get expensive. ;)

I have been making a huge effort to eat healthier, and would love a new blender so that I could start my morning off with healthy fruit and yogurt smoothies :)

The reason why I want a Vitamix is to create a positive change in my life. Not only do I want to change the way I eat but I also want to gain some confidence in myself. I’m a little overweight, I’ll tell you the truth, I do enjoy fast food and eating out a different restaurants. Living in this American society, fast food restaurants are easily accessible especially where I live and fast food is delicious and CHEAP! Why are the bad foods cheap and the organic foods more expensive? It’s an issue I don’t understand. But I toned that down this year because I want to change my habits. In addition, I am in my second semester of nursing school, you know stress and studying can trigger an individual to want carbs for energy so a burger from in & out sounds good especially because it’s just right there. In addition, I’m going to be a future health care provider. I need to set an example for my patient and the community that I will be serving. I feel that the vitamix will help me even more in achieving my goal. I know the Vitamix alone won’t contribute to this lifestyle change, but also I have to mentally and physically want to change my life and so I feel that by receiving a Vitamix, this can help me out. I can create healthier meals, not only for myself but also for my family. You know once an individual starts eating healthier, they feel better, are in a happier mood, look better which can further the person to continue that process and that’s what I want, I want to feel good, look good and know for sure that I’m becoming a healthier person.

My family has recently become fat free vegans (Esselstyn) for health reasons. I did initially dread the change but my husband has now lost some much needed weight and all four of my children have been very supportive in our effort to make healthier food choices. I do have an old 1960′s yellow blender I have been using for make everything from soap to almond milk but I would like to retire my little old blender to just the laundry room for making soap and have super a dooper Vitamix for fat free vegan culinary purposes. If I had a Vitamix, I would be able to make our much preferred almond coffee creamer and when we drank our coffee it would be smooth instead of having tid bits of almonds. I would like to make my children healthy smoothies as treats. Finally, I would love to have a Vitamix for processing and preserving fruits and vegetable from my garden in the summer.

I am obsessed with green smoothies, and drink one almost every day. My little kitchen aid works so hard to blend, but it just isn’t up to par with a Vitamix. I would also love to be able to grind nuts and flours in the blender. The possibilities are endless with a Vitamix! I dream of silky smooth green smoothies and non-gritty almond milk. Crossing my fingers!

I would absolutely love to win this!! I have been wanting one for so long and was recently at a health expo in Boston where there was a Vitamix demo. I was blown away by the creations he made – a wonderful green smoothie (my favorite), a tortilla soup and even nut butter and sorbet! It was amazing to watch this machine make such a wide variety of healthy and delicious foods. I think the first thing I would make would be a big green smoothie!! I’d love to experiment with the soups and different types of smoothies as well – such an amazing giveaway!!

Hello,
My name is Sarah and I would love a Vitamix because I would love to make my own green smoothies. I would also love to try to make my own almond butter, almond milk and hummus.

I would love a Vitamix because I love making smoothies. Right now one of my favorites uses frozen berries, a bit of pomegranate juice, and half an avocado. I know that a Vitamix would pulverize the frozen fruit a lot better than my current blender!

I want a Vitamix, wait- I need a Vitamix. I have been through 3 blenders in the last 6 or so months. I LOVE to make green smoothies. At firsh, I was doing it just for me. But as I looked at my children, I realized I wanted them to experience the same great benefits that I was receiving from drinking the smoothies and improving my diet. it became more than that. I don’t want them to suffer from the things that I have had to suffer. I want our family to be vibrant and full of life. I don’t want ailments, physical and mental, to hold us back. I know that diet is key to this. I know that Vitamix makes this within easy reach. This is not a “diet” I am doing. This is my way of life. It has to be.

I have always wanted a vitamix to make yummy smoothies in the morning. I love the ones they sample at costco with spinach and strawberries and ?….my daughter loved it too and would love to get her into the making process!

Amb February 13, 2012 at 11:59 am

Mmm…I would use it for soups and smoothies. :)

Jenna Z February 13, 2012 at 12:36 pm

My current blender is the one my parents sent me off to college with (which was their OLD blender from the 70′s!). While it keeps in kicking, I would have a BLAST with a vitamix, no more babying the blender and keeping it safe from ice cubes and other chunky things that could render it dead. :)
