Forget your workout today? No worries, rolling out your own pasta dough burns plenty of calories and provides you with the beginnings of a delicious meal. Seriously, it’s a workout!! I recommend making the pasta in the morning and letting it dry all day. Also, this pasta dough is salty; reduce the salt in the dough if the accompanying dish is already salty.
- 2 cups white whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir in water and olive oil and knead until smooth, about five minutes. Roll into a ball, cover, and let rest for about 30 minutes. Roll dough out to desired thickness and cut as you like. Let dry a while before cooking. The photo shows the noodles cooked in a light garlic herb broth with spinach and roasted zucchini. Quite tasty!
*note* if you have a large family, you may want to double the recipe.
